Red Square is the central square in Moscow. It was called with the old Russian word “krasny” (red), which meant beautiful, and it’s true. It is situated in front of the Eastern Kremlin wall and is bounded by the buildings of the State Historical Museum, of the GUM department store and of Saint Basil’s cathedral. For many centuries Red Square was the arena of major historical events in our country.
